What’s the best way to answer a question you don't know the answer to? Don't know the answer? Why don't you ask a question? Doesn't asking a question give you the answer?
Have you got a beard comb? Have you got a sock up your trousers? Why did I ask these questions? Will I tell?
“Why are you sloppy at work Phil? Is it because you have ADD?”
“ Why do they need to know the reason for my sloppy nature in the workplace? Is it because I have a beard comb?”
“Did they assume you were sloppy simply because you had no beard comb? To be bearded without comb is that a crime?”
“Are we creating a an entire dialogue entirely consisting of questions? Is it? Is it?”
Isn’t this an example of a typical work place conversation? Perhaps one in which you would feel uncomfortable? Don’t you see how using questions to your advantage really helps? Shall we show you how to use questions to gains answers?
“Phil, can I ask you about the rating report you did for Bobby big balls?”
(Honest answer: I've no idea what the fuck your talking about)
“Why? Have I made a mistake?”
“I don’t know Phil, but there are some problems. Can you have a look at it for me?.”
“Really? What are the problems?”
(Now she answers her own question) “It looks like blah plus blah equals blah, blah, but blah should equal blah.”
“Fantastic I’ve been thinking about how to put that for weeks, we’re a great team. Keep up the good work you’re an asset to the company. You seem to have a real grasp of this. Can you do this report every week?. . Great!”
